One of the things I noticed about the work that I have put in so far, is that I have little to no backgrounds in my scene. So, starting yesterday, I am going to focus more on creating backgrounds when they are needed in order to establish the shot scene and also get some practice.
I've always wondered how long does it take artists like Jim Lee and Pepe Larraz to draw those insanely detailed backgrounds. Has any artist ever revealed that? I've yet to see it. If you know.
I'm a little bit scared to do it sometimes because I think I will fail at it but I have to get over that hump someday and doing it more often will help with that, I think.
For reference and as a guide I am using this book: Perspective! For Comic Book Artists. I've heard great things about it from other artists, so watch out for some backgrounds in my next comic.
I was able to find this interesting video by Whyt Manga on youtube. If you guys are interested, check it out.
Until next time, #drawwatuwant.
